This Web site is owned and operated by KooDooZ, Inc. ("KooDooZ"). KooDooZ® is dedicated to protecting the privacy of any personal information that our users – who we like to call "KDZ" - provide to us. The below Privacy Policy is designed to answer your questions regarding our privacy policies and principles.

CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT

We recognize that some of our members are under the age of 13, and yet want to participate in all of the benefits offered by KooDooZ. Rather than blocking or restricting access to KooDooZ to one age group, KooDooZ has opted to make its online services available to everyone. KooDooZ is especially dedicated to protecting the privacy of children under the age of 13 who use or access this website. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13, and it is important for parents/guardians to know that KooDooZ is compliant with COPPA standards.

COPPA requires that we (a) inform parents and guardians about how we collect, use and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13, (b) obtain the prior verifiable consent of parents and guardians in order for children under the age of 13 to use certain features of the site, (c) do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in a given activity on this site and (d) provide the parent with the ability to review and delete the information collected about their child.

Consistent with COPPA requirements, KooDooZ will never knowingly request personal identification information from anyone under the age of 13 without securing parental consent. KooDooZ requires KDZ to enter an age range to ensure that children under the age of 13 are not able to use the site without the proper limitations required by COPPA. KooDooZ also does not contact children under the age of 13 for marketing purposes without a parent/guardian’s permission. Furthermore, KooDooZ does not ask children under 13 for more personal information than is reasonably necessary as any condition or stipulation to participate in any KooDooZ activity or promotion.

WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS COLLECTED AND HOW IS IT COLLECTED?

  1. KDZ can view content prior to becoming a member without any personal information being collected. We do not collect information from KDZ unless they register.
  2. During our registration process, KooDooZ collects your first name, gender and age range. KDZ are required to create a screen name and password to gain access to the site.

    a. KooDooZ requires KDZ under 14 to provide a parent or guardian email address, which is in turn encrypted. This email is used for the purpose of soliciting parental consent as well as to help a user retrieve a lost password or other such administrative communication.

    b. KDZ who are older than 14 years of age may enter their own email address to gain additional site access.

    c. KooDooZ may collect personal information from parents in order to allow KDZ to participate in certain features located on our websites. These features may include challenge board subscriptions, in-mail communication with other site users (limited to those listed as "fans" by KDZ), sending sponsorship requests to known people, subscribing to events, uploading media (video, text, photos), and joining community "circles" (groups created when KooDooZ forms an alliance with groups such as schools, student ministries, community clubs, youth groups, brands, etc.)

  3. When users add money to their KDZ Card, we may collect credit card information, card holder’s name, email address, card billing address, and other such information to process the credit card transaction. KDZ under the age of 14 are not permitted to enter a credit card transaction without parental consent. KDZ may accumulate real cash balances in their accounts that may be used to purchase items previously approved by their parent or guardian.
  4. All email information is encrypted and utilized solely for administrative and notification purposes.
  5. KooDooZ also collects personal information passively, by tracking user traffic or surfing patterns throughout all of our sites. KooDooZ uses this tracking information to determine which areas of our Web sites receive the most interest and user traffic. KooDooZ does not track what individual KDZ read, but rather the overall performance of each Web page. This helps us continue to build better service and content for our KDZ.
  6. Generally, this passive collection of information is done through the use of "cookies." Cookies are text placed in the browser files of your computer and are used to help us provide information that is targeted to your interests. The cookie itself does not contain personal information, although it will enable us to relate your use of our Web site to information you have specifically and knowingly provided. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. KooDooZ uses cookies to specifically monitor individual usage. You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you have set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use the KooDooZ Web site.

HOW DOES KOODOOZ USE PERSONAL INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM ITS USERS?

  1. KooDooZ uses all information voluntarily given by our KDZ to enhance their experience on our Web site and to better prepare future content based on the interest of our KDZ.
  2. KooDooZ diversifies its site experience and content through "community circles" which are searchable and visible to KDZ. KDZ can request to join any community circle in KooDooZ. When you join a circle, community circle owners (our partners, which include non-profits, schools, student ministries, and community clubs) will have visibility to any and all data on a KDZ desktop not marked "private".
  3. Except as otherwise disclosed in this Policy, KooDooZ will not share personal information about individual KDZ with any third party, except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, to ensure proper operation of our systems, or to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

HOW DOES KOODOOZ NOTIFY AND OBTAIN CONSENT FROM PARENTS OR GUARDIANS FOR THE COLLECTION OF INFORMATION FROM A CHILD?

1. At the completion of registration, KDZ under the age of 14 are required to provide a parent or guardian email. An email notification is sent to the parent or guardian who must in turn establish verifiable consent. Without verifiable consent KDZ are able to use the site, but all information with which they interact will be marked "private" and not visible to other users.

USER SAFETY

KooDooZ stores a relationship tree to identify which KDZ have "vouched" for each other. Vouching for KDZ without personally knowing them is a strict violation of the KooDooZ Terms of Use Agreement. If it is discovered that "Trusted" KDZ have acted in violation of the KooDooZ Terms of Use Agreement, the "Trusted" user-status, and all vouched-for members of the "Trusted" KDZ may lose site privileges, including, but not limited to "Trusted" status, site access, etc.

HOW CAN PARENTS ACCESS, CHANGE OR DELETE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR CHILD?

1. At any time, parents can refuse to permit collection of further personal information about their child and can request that any personal information we have collected be deleted from our records. We use two methods that allow parents to access, change, or delete the personally identifiable information that we have collected from their child.

  1. Parents can access, change or delete his or her child's personal information by logging on to the child's account on the site. The parent will need to have their child’s screen name and password. If your child has forgotten the password, click on "Forgot Password?" link and follow the instructions
  2. A parent can contact our customer service email at: support@koodooz.com. Please include the child's screen name and the parent's email so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request.

SPONSORSHIP

Inherent in KooDooZ is the concept of Service-Learning Inspired, volunteerism and fundraising. We encourage KDZ to earn community support for their goodwill and offer the ability for all ages to support each other's do-good efforts. Pledging money or sponsoring KDZ activities requires a balance on the KDZ Card greater than the amount you will be pledging. If your pledged amount exceeds your balance, you will be prompted to add funds to your KDZ Card.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

KooDooZ operates a secure data network, protected by industry standard firewalls and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed, enhanced or modified, when we, in our sole discretion, determine it necessary or required.

MEDIA CONTENT

Parents and children should note that any personal information that a child (or anyone) chooses to disclose in their choice of username, in a video or image description, or other interactive activities will be viewed and accessible by other users of the site. Children (or anyone, regardless of age) should not post any personally identifiable information including, without limitation, legal names, phone numbers, or email addresses, within their username, video or image descriptions, or other interactive activities. Parents should talk to their children about not posting personal information in connection with their participation in these public and interactive activities on the KooDooZ website.

CONSENT & PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

By using this Web site, you hereby consent to the collection and use of all information by KooDooZ, including, but not limited to, all information gathered about you by KooDooZ. KooDooZ reserves the right to update and change this privacy policy, in its sole discretion, and shall notify users upon login of such changes. If KooDooZ decides to change its privacy policy, KooDooZ will post those changes on this page, so that you are always aware of what information is collected, how it is used, and under what circumstances it is disclosed.
